[MacTUG] Migrating to a different server

Greetings folks
I am migrating one of my servers to a newer box. It is my deploystudio and profile manager server.

I would like to not have to go from square one and rebuild everything in deploystudio and profile manager and was wondering if anyone has any advice for migration. I know I can clone onto the newer computer but I would rather not for a few reasons (including I would be cloning to a newer computer which can sometimes cause problems).

I think deploy studio is pretty simple: It sounds like if I move the repository and then use deploy studio server admin it will more or less find everything as long as the repository is found.

It is profile manager that I think might be more of an issue. Now I have a pretty simple setup (50-60 machines and only a few profiles) so if I just need to manually recreate it, it is probably only a few hours of work.

But I thought I might as well ask, has anyone done this? I did a quick search and could not find anything.

don

BTW: Guillermo says ‘hello’ from sunny Florida! He has gotten a sysadmin job there (mainly) managing macs and mac servers (with a new *nix boxes thrown in for good measure)
