[MacTUG] Warning message "HP Scanner 3 will harm your computer"

I have a use get the warning message “HP Scanner 3 will harm your computer” today.

Apparently HP asked Apple to revoke its printer driver code-signing certificates for some older printer/drivers, and it resulted in the above problem.

There is an Apple discussion on this at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251954320 that gives the various steps and things to do to fix the problem.

Basically it sounds like one needs to make sure one has the latest HP Printer Software 5.1 and possibly re add the printer.
