[MacTUG] Microsoft Remote Desktop and the impaired Shift key

Might be other modifier keys but the lack of the Shift key has the most impact.
Turning Caps Lock on and off works for the alphabetics but not for the special characters of course.
Hitting Shift five times asks if Sticky Keys should be enabled and that seems to help but Sticky Keys
doesn't work exactly the same so the user needs to adjust to it. The on-screen keyboard shows the
Shift key being received by the Windows Terminal Server.  Setting everything to U.S. instead of
Canadian doesn't seem to help.

Found a Microsoft forum article from a few years ago that claimed that the problem was being escalated
but there was no followup.

Has anyone else figured out how to deal with this issue?
