[MacTUG] A couple things to keep in mind if looking at the new Mac mini

From what I gather…

1) RAM is now soldered onto the mother board so there is no upgrading of memory. It is the same situation as with most MacBooks and the 21” iMac.

So it is likely wise to buy it with the maximum RAM ( 16 GB ) at the start.

2) There is no quad core i7 version. As a result the performance of the new high end Mac is quite a bit less than that of the previous generation.
