In light of the recent announcement by Apple essentially revoking all retail outlets on University campuses. I reached out to Carbon Computing to see if they might be inclined to offer the educational discount. Below is the response I received.

If you are in the habit of wanting to remain relatively “cutting edge” with your hardware this may be a viable option for some of you.

James,

Thank you for writing in with your question. When Apple closed down their Education Authorized Retail Channel they did not provide their Specialists with Education pricing, so while we can certainly provide you with Macs, iPads, service and training, we would do so at our regular prices. You'll find that Education discounts on Macs weren't substantial anyways, and on iPad there isn't an Education discount at all.

Two years ago we introduced our Guaranteed Buyback Program which allows you to buy a Mac now and then trade it in within 24 months and get 50% off a Mac of equal or lessor value. This works out to be a much better savings long term than buying at Education pricing so please check it out on our website and see if it's a good fit for you.

Thanks for your time James - hopefully we can help you out with your needs.
