[MacTUG] Login Screen hidden with auto log out

This is particularly frustrating. On a client's machine, for security reasons, I have encouraged them to turn on 'log out after x min of inactivity' and when the computer then falls asleep and is awoken, the user is faced with a screen that needs to be moused over to reveal all the buttons.

What is exceptionally frustrating is apple's official lame solution. I could not believe this is their 'resolution':

>Resolution
>Move the mouse or trackpad cursor over the center area of the login
>window so you can see the user icons. Click on the icon of the user that
>you would like to login as, type in the user's password, and press
>Return.

I hope this will be fixed in the next update. I wound up telling them to turn off 'auto logout' as the situation apparently only happens when you have the computer auto logout, not if you log out manually (from the 'support' article: "This issue will not occur if the display is not sleeping when the account is logged out.") and it sounds like it is a video driver issue that is taking forever to resolve.

Has anyone seen this? Any other solutions?
