That is great Dale

I am CCing this to MacTUG as I had previously bored them with the performance benefits of going to a OWC SSD drive, so it will be good for folks to know that you can get these options (whether one chooses SSD or old skool drives).

Subject: More Upgrade Options Available!

Hi Don,

Just a quick email to let you know that we are now carrying the Data Doubler Products from OWC which offers MacBook Pro users the option of swapping their internal Optical Drive for an additional Hard Drive and repurposing the optical drive using an external enclosure.

Here's a link to the product's page: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/drive_bracket/datadoubler/

Installed with a 750GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive the cost comes out to $280 with installation included.

Alternatively 1TB 5400 RPM Drives are available for about $10-$20 more.

SSD options are available but we would need to quote those on a case by case basis and determine the capabilities of the MacBook Pro involved to optimize cost and performance.

If we're simply adding the drive without doing any data transfers the upgrade can be done in about an hour.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the upgrade options.

Thanks,

Dale
