[MacTUG] any way (user template or MCX) to have 'display' icon in menu bar

Hi Gang
A minor issue but if anyone knows off the top of their head it would be great:

I have a mac in my lab that has a projector attached. I would like the displays icon to be in the dock for all users (so they can turn on or off mirroring if the projector is not being used) but I cannot seem to find a plist to stick in the User Template, or a way to do it with MCX. Any suggestions?

(Plan B is that the displays panel is unlocked in System Preferences, so they can do this from here, but my users can be easily confused, haha)

Thanks…
don
