"A 'free-for-all' mailing list that CS Faculty, Staff, and Grad students can join, for posting about anything. Use it to post questions of all sorts, from advice for car garages, to advice on research. Use it to post stuff for sale, to discuss current events, to remind each other when deadlines approach, and so on. The basic rule for posting is this: If the topic is something you would talk about at a public water cooler, then it is appropriate for this list." (Mike Terry) The list is also used to advertise social events organized by the School Commons Committee. When signing up, please use your UW userid/email address so that we know who you are. Unfamiliar addresses from off-campus (eg: gmail or hotmail) are likely to be refused. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the cs-cooler Archives. Using cs-cooler
To post a message to all the list members, send email to cs-cooler@lists.uwaterloo.ca. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to cs-cooler
Subscribe to cs-cooler by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
