PHD POSITION IN QUANTUM ALGORITHMS & COMPLEXITY THEORY

Hi all,

we are looking for a PhD student, to work on DFG project 432788384 "The Quantum Satisfiability Problem: Algorithms and Complexity-Theoretic Hardness" at Paderborn University, Germany. Required qualifications are a background in quantum computation and/or a strong background in Linear Algebra. Backgrounds in complexity theory, algorithms, and algebraic geometry are considered strong assets. Students from math, physics, or computer science backgrounds are all welcome.

Please feel free to direct any questions or applications to sevag.gharibian at uni-paderborn.de [mailto:sevag.gharibian at uni-paderborn.de]. The "soft" deadline is Jan 31, 2020, though we will consider applications beyond this point if the position remains open.

Brief bit about Paderborn: Paderborn University (UPB, Germany) has a strong background in theoretical CS, and is the home of the new quantum institute PhoQS at UPB, between Physics (experimental/theory), Math, and CS, led by Prof. Dr. Christine Silberhorn. The PhD position above is for my group (Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sevag Gharibian in CS), which is part of the PhoQS institute. Paderborn is a lovely green city with a high quality of life.

Best wishes,
Sev
