January Greetings

Hey everyone! Welcome back to UWaterloo! Here are some amazing events that we are organizing this month, with a lot more on the way!

Detecting and Resolving Software Errors by Professor Jo Atlee

  *   When: January 27th @ 12 - 1pm
  *   Where: DC 1302
  *   What: Come listen to Professor Atlee's talk on About Detecting and resolving software errors. This is a great opportunity to learn about software modelling and automated analysis techniques which are used to detect errors in software, how these problems can be resolved at run-time, and ask Professor Atlee about her research! Dropbox Lunch Time!

  *   When: January 30th @ 1 - 3pm
  *   Where: In William's Café (which is in the Waterloo Plaza)
  *   What: Drop by to ask recruiters/engineers questions about Dropbox, the hiring process, and the industry.
  *   Note: This event is women only (http://wics.uwaterloo.ca/faq/)

Future Female Techmakers Conference (FFTC)

  *   When: March 4th and 5th 2017
  *   Where: TBD (Stay tuned!)
  *   What: This conference is designed to connect women in STEM degrees. The FFTC hopes to teach women how to be effective mentors, provide female role models to young women interested in the tech industry, and create lasting meaningful connections that will support all participants in their journey towards becoming female techmakers. The Future Female Techmakers Conference (FFTC) will be accepting approximately 50 undergraduate students. The attendees will attend a series of 90-minute workshops specialized for each stream, as well as joint sessions that promote mentorship. Concepts include If statements and for loops, Databases, Frontend and accessibility, Boolean logic, Graph Theory
