Hi everyone!
Welcome to the fall 2016 term! We are excited to meet you guys and hope you
can come out to our events.
Here are some upcoming events:
1. *WiCS Tea Party Fall 2016: Thursday, September 15*
*About: *Meet the current WiCS committee and other WiCS members in
Waterloo this term! Tea and snacks will be provided. Please try to bring
your own mugs. Note: Our Tea Party is a Big CSters event is and is thus
women-only (http://wics.uwaterloo.ca/faq/)
*When: *5:30-6:30 PM (drop by anytime)

2. *Greenhouse Panel: Monday, September 19*
*About: *Come out for a talk from Female Social Innovators who work in
technology. The panelists include women from both GreenHouse and Velocity!
The goal of this event is to raise awareness about women in tech and
inspire you to become an entrepreneur in the tech industry. St. Paul's
GreenHouse is the first and only live-in campus-linked accelerator in
Canada focused on social innovation and entrepreneurship. They provide
their students with a dedicated space that fosters creativity and
collaboration, peer-to-peer support and much more.

3. *Lunch with Microsoft: Tuesday, September 27*
*About: *Come join Microsoft for lunch and meet current full-times!

Bios (full bios available on the Facebook event):
- Sage Franch is a Tech Evangelist at Microsoft, motivational speaker,
and founder of TrendyTechie.ca. Known internationally as "the Trendy
Techie," she has been recognized for her work inspiring young women to
explore careers in technology. Prior to becoming a Tech Evangelist, Sage
was an educator at Microsoft Learning Experiences, where she created highly
technical online training courses for Windows 10 app development.
- Kyle Olive graduated from Computer Engineering at the University of
Waterloo in 2015 and now works as a Program Manager on Windows in the
Internet of Things.

*Women Who Code Career Panel @ Shopify Waterloo: Monday, October 3 About:
Career Panel: Exploring the Individual Contributor and Management. Join
Women Who Code in a panel where they'll discuss what an individual
contributor is, what a technical manager is, and what to expect from those
roles. Panelists include Rachel Zhao, Engineering Manager at Yelp and Emma
Kotzer, Software Developer at Shopify. Light dinner will be served. When:
