Dear quantum-info list administrators,

If it would be possible to please circulate the student ad below, I would very much appreciate it.

-------------------------------

Dear colleagues,

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Paderborn, Germany, is seeking to recruit motivated Masters and Ph.D. students in theoretical quantum computation, with a focus on the areas of quantum algorithms, computational complexity theory, and/or cryptography.

Master's students will be recruited into the research group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sevag Gharibian. Ph.d. students will be recruited into the group of Prof. Dr. Johannes Blömer. Note that a background in German is *not* required for these positions - all of our graduate courses are taught in English, and Masters/PhD theses can be in English.

The University of Paderborn is currently undertaking an exciting cross-departmental initiative to establish a new quantum optics center, PhoQS, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Christine Silberhorn, involving faculty across experimental and theoretical physics, computer science, and mathematics. The new students recruited by this call would be affiliated with PhoQS and have opportunities to collaborate and learn from all involved disciplines.
