Subject: Post-doc in quantum error correction at UCL

Dear colleagues,

Please see details below of an open post-doc position in my group at UCL. I’d be very grateful if you would forward this to any suitable candidates.

Thanks,

Dan

Research Associate in Quantum Computing (Quantum Error Correction) - UCL, London

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Quantum Error Correction in the AMOPP Group at UCL’s main campus in London, working with Prof Dan Browne. The post forms part the QCDA (Quantum Code Design and Architecture) network through the European QUANTERA programme with nodes in Sheffield, London, Delft, Paris and Munich. Further details on QCDA can be found at: http://qcda.eu

The successful candidate will direct, develop and execute research towards the goals of the QCDA network, and in particular Work-package 2 (Universal Logic and Compiling) and Work-package 1 (Qubit codes and decoders). Topics of interest include: Topological LDPC codes and decoders; Distillation of exotic magic states; Generic LDPC codes and decoders; Computation by code deformation; Transversal gates in LDPC codes. They have the opportunity to work on collaborative projects with other QCDA nodes, will attend network meetings and also be responsible for co-organising some network events and workshops.

The post is funded for 2.5 years in the first instance.

Application deadline: 1st June 2018
