Subject: Two postdoctoral positions in the theory of quantum computing
available at Bristol

Dear colleagues,

Two postdoctoral positions are available to carry out research on the
theory of quantum computing, based in the School of Mathematics at the
University of Bristol.

Areas of particular interest for the positions include quantum algorithms
and their underpinning mathematics; quantum computational complexity and
Hamiltonian complexity; quantum communication complexity; algorithms for
simulation of quantum systems; and verification of quantum devices. The
person(s) hired will have the opportunity to work with Prof Noah Linden
and/or Dr Ashley Montanaro.

The start date is flexible from 1 October 2018, the positions are for a
period of 2 years, and the application deadline is 23 September.

Candidates can apply at
http://www.bristol.ac.uk/jobs/find/details.html?nPostingID=22054&nPostingT
argetID=80615 and should feel free to contact me with any informal
enquiries.

I would be very grateful if you could forward this email to any
potentially interested candidates.

best wishes,
Ashley.
