‎Hi Daniel,

I don't seem to be able to post things to the q-info mailing list. Please
could you send Viv's job advert out?

Thanks,
Hilary

Hi Hilary,

I have finally sorted out the details for hiring my two postdocs: please
could you push this onto the relevant Canadian mailing lists you have access
to?

many thanks,
— Viv

[From Dr Viv Kendon:]

As part of my recently awarded EPSRC Established Career Fellowship, I have
two positions available to carry out research into various theoretical and
computational aspects of “Hybrid quantum and classical computing”.

Quantum computation is likely to be deployed as some sort of co-processor
augmenting the power of a classical computer that takes care of tasks that
are easy to perform classically and also controls the quantum processor. The
interplay between the quantum and classical aspects of quantum architectures
is understudied; you will contribute to developing this area of research to
optimize the quantum and classical components of future computers.

You will be joining an internationally recognized theoretical research group
that is part of the Atmol section in the Department of Physics at Durham
University, UK. The appointments will be for two years in the first
instance, with the possibility of extension depending on funding. The start
date is flexible and negotiable from immediate to January 2016.

Group and University web links: http://www.jqc.org.uk/home and

Informal enquiries by email to me at viv.kendon at durham.ac.uk

** Closing date 31st May 2015 **
