Subject: Centre for Doctoral Training associated Lectureship in Quantum
Engineering - closing date 14th September

Dear Colleagues

I should be very grateful if you would bring this to the attention of
suitable candidates; please note that the Centre encompasses experimental
and theoretical aspects of quantum information theory.

Many thanks

Noah

The Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training (QECDT) offers
exceptional graduates a four-year doctoral training programme, underpinned
by world-class research and industrial expertise. The Centre will train a
new generation of engineers, entrepreneurs, research leaders and
professionals with the skills and knowledge to tackle the most important
challenges in modern science and technology – harnessing the power of
quantum mechanics and using the latest industrial technologies. This
innovative CDT, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research
Council (EPSRC), bridges the disciplines of physics, engineering,
mathematics and computer science; working closely with chemists, biologists
and interacting strongly with industry. Based in the £12M Nanoscience and
Quantum Information building, the Centre is a key component of the
University’s graduate training programme.

We are looking to recruit two exceptional individuals to take up early
career academic lectureship positions linked to the QECDT. Each post holder
will support the delivery of the CDT and conduct research that is related to
the field of Quantum Engineering and to the Centre for Quantum Photonics.
You will join the CDT management team with responsibility for delivering the
CDT training programme, ensuring a high quality postgraduate student
experience, taking leadership roles and supporting practically the training
and teaching programme of each cohort. You will work closely with the Centre
Manager and CDT management team and under the guidance of the Centre
Director, Dr Mark Thompson.

The positions are based in the purpose built Nanoscience and Quantum
Information building, working across the multi-disciplinary QECDT and the
world leading Centre for Quantum Photonics (CQP). We are specifically
seeking research active individuals who can demonstrate an excellent
knowledge of their research specialism and the ability to generate their own
research activities and proposals within the broad area of Quantum
Technologies.

These are 4 year fixed term appointments with interviews expected to take
place in mid-September.
