[MacTUG] MacBook Ventura "Waking for network access" with dongle ethernet

Hi,

I don’t know if anyone else has tried this but I am trying to setup a MacBook (Apple Silicon ) Pro for remote access logging.

Everything works, except that the MacBook goes to sleep at some point and will not wake up even though “Waking for network access” is set.
Basically once the MacBook goes into “sleep” mode it won’t allow one to remotely connect.

I am suspecting that this might be due to the the fact that it is connected to the network via a USB-C hub, which may not be passing what is needed to the MacBook to “wake” up.
Does anyone know a hub that works for this? I am wondering if a directly connected ethernet/USB-C dongle might work?

The other thing I have found is that the energy saver system preference is gone in Ventura ( see https://www.dssw.co.uk/blog/2022-10-25-energy-saver-schedule-ventura/ ) and the options for some of these settings are different between a desktop and a laptop.
