[MacTUG] NEW Outlook for MS-O365 for Mac: The following accounts aren't supported in the new Outlook and won't be migrated

Hi everyone,
Users who have Office 365 for Mac on their systems may see a prompt to switch to the “New Outlook” as part of the normal MS-Office Updates that generate prompts to install when they are available.

The “NEW” version of Outlook for MS-O365 for Mac does not support non-Office 365/Exchange accounts. The new version of Outlook for Mac does support personal external accounts like gmail, etc.

So if you have a generic at uwaterloo.ca account set up in Outlook for Mac and the account hasn’t yet been migrated to be an Office 365 account – then it will not be available if you choose to switch to the new “look” of Outlook for Mac.

Click the “Cancel” button to remain in the existing look and feel of Outlook for Mac, or if you have already made the change then slide the toggle to the left for “OFF” near the top-right of the Outlook window to switch back. Outlook will need to Quit and then reopen to make the switch.

If you do not have a non-O365 account set up in Outlook and you’d like to try the new version then you can, but be aware that Contacts, Notes, and Tasks are still not set up for normal use in the new Outlook for Mac.
