[MacTUG] WCMS redirect server upgrade - May 2

What is happening? The WCMS redirect server will be upgraded to newer versions of the operating system (OS) and supporting software. The redirect server is responsible for:

  *   Some domain redirects where this server has taken over for the domain (e.g. biology.uwaterloo.ca<http://biology.uwaterloo.ca/> -> uwaterloo.ca/biology<http://uwaterloo.ca/biology>)
  *   'Full path' redirects for assorted domains and uwaterloo.ca<http://uwaterloo.ca/> sites (e.g. uwaterloo.ca/old-site/specific-page<http://uwaterloo.ca/old-site/specific-page> -> uwaterloo.ca/new-site/new-specific-page<http://uwaterloo.ca/new-site/new-specific-page>)
     *   Includes redirects coming from a migration redirect spreadsheet
     *   Does not include 'short version' URLs (e.g. uwaterloo.ca/ist<http://uwaterloo.ca/ist>)
  *   The following 'proxied' sites: wusa.ca<http://wusa.ca/> and goose-watch.uwaterloo.ca<http://goose-watch.uwaterloo.ca/>

When is this happening? The upgrade will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Please note: the WCMS redirect server will be inaccessible for approximately one hour during this maintenance window. During the time that the server is inaccessible:

  *   Applicable domain and 'full path' redirects will continue to work if a user’s browser cached the redirect from a previous visit; most users will likely get a “service unavailable” message
  *   Proxied sites will be completely inaccessible
