I will also note that default clients on iOS and most Android builds do work with O365.
uWaterloo undergrads are all on O365 for email. It does work and I have assisted a few students in getting things setup. As long as there is an Exchange connector this is easy-peasy.

Outlook mobile is of course the vendor provided solution - so you will gets some improved access to features via the Outlook mobile client.

On my Android device I have both the default mail app configured and Outlook mobile. I find Outlook mobile a bit clunky for interacting with the calendar.

For what it's worth, we recommend Outlook mobile as the email client for both iOS and Android.
