[MacTUG] FYI: Mac mini 2018 - RAM upgrade video

Yes it is a lot more work than the previous couple of versions, but some prior versions such as the 2009 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KaHNLR6Aac ) were quite difficult as well. Most people would be advised to get someone like Mr. Kentner to do it.

After seeing what is involved, I am of the mind to suggest to purchasers that if they are looking to have 16GB of RAM ( which is quite sufficient for most users ) to simply go ahead and order it from Apple. Apple’s upgrade cost is $216 for this. 3rd party memory is around $160+ and retail services charges $65 per hour, so there likely is very little savings to be had by going a different route than by doing the Apple upgrade.
