What is happening? PHP is being upgraded on the WCMS production and feeds servers. Features and functionality of the WCMS will remain unchanged after the upgrade.

Why is this happening? PHP, the underlying system for Drupal, which in turn runs the WCMS sites, is being upgraded to a newer version. This improves security and provides low-level bug fixes and features. Other WCMS servers have already been upgraded.

When is this happening? Tuesday, January 17 from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

What you need to do before the upgrade begins: If you have a site on production or feeds, please log out of your site and do not work on your site during this upgrade window. Production sites will remain available to site visitors during the upgrade window; feeds sites will be briefly unavailable at some point during the upgrade window.

Questions or concerns? Please submit to rt-ist-wcms at rt.uwaterloo.ca<mailto:rt-ist-wcms at rt.uwaterloo.ca> or the IST Service Desk, helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca>, ext. 44357.
