Thanks Ed, including the warning that Fusion drives can make Deploystudio life troublesome!

This will be an interesting upgrade to the labs. After upgrading my office 12,2iMac to 24gigs and an SSD, I have chosen to upgrade 30 computers instead of buying a mittfull of new ones. I will keep people updated on how this turns out. My own 12,2 iMac feels like a new machine so I think the students will like it and it will be interesting how it speeds up rebuild.

No problem with SSD drives (if they are large enough to hold the image) - just do not get fusion drives. We are
getting a load of mac minis:
3.0GHz Intel Dual-Core Core i7
16GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM - 2x8GB
256GB Flash Storage
Intel Iris Graphics

So 256GB should handle the image.

Subject: [MacTUG] Urgent: deploystudio and SSD upgrades

Greetings:

I am going to replace some HDDs with SDDs in my Macs I rebuild with deploystudio. I presume there will be no problem but I have to order these ASAP.

Has anyone done client SSD upgrades and used deploystudio?

I can't foresee issues but don't have time to do a test before buying a few dozen SSDs.
