[MacTUG] RESOLVED: WCMS upgrade to 1.12 - Sept 29

Resolved: The WCMS upgrade to V1.12 has now been completed. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this upgrade.
IST is conducting a review of this incident, and will make any necessary changes to ensure this issue does not recur and the WCMS development team will hold off on future WCMS full releases until a solution is in place.
Features of the 1.12 release:
• Replaced the administration theme with Adminimal, a fully responsive theme.
• Introduced the Bibliography content type, which is used for scholarly content, such as journal papers and books.
• Introduced the Embedded Timeline content type, which will display items along an interactive timeline. Note that this is the first of a new style of content types that are meant to be created for embedding in other pages, and should not be used on their own.
• Introduced the Award content type, which is used for student awards and scholarships. This content type must be requested via RT<mailto:rt at uwaterloo.ca?subject=WCMS%20award%20content%20type%20request>.
• Introduced the ability to have site-wide authenticated access, where login is required to view any pages on a site. This feature must be requested via RT<mailto:rt at uwaterloo.ca?subject=WCMS%20authenticated%20site%20request>. Note that, for this initial release, only web pages are protected; files and images can be accessed without login if the URL is known.
• Added Mailchimp integration so that Mailchimp subscription forms can be embedded into pages.
• Added syntax highlighting to the source view of the editor.
• Updated the editor so that cursor position is preserved when switching between source view and WYSIWYG view.

Update: The WCMS 1.12 upgrade is still running and some sites are continuing to experience issues. If you need to create/update content on your site before the upgrade is complete it is recommended that you save often. We'll let you know when the update is complete (estimate is late this afternoon). We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued patience during this upgrade.
Additional details: During this scheduled major upgrade of the WCMS production environment, the database server was not able to complete all of the required updates during the maintenance window (Wednesday, September 30 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1). IST is conducting a review of this incident, and will make any necessary changes to ensure this issue does not recur.

What is happening? WCMS sites are being upgraded to version 1.12.
Why is this happening? This upgrade includes new features and functionality, bug fixes, and updates to the admin theme. A complete list of changes can be viewed at https://uwaterloo.ca/web-resources/news/wcms-version-112-release.
When is this happening?
* Pilots and all other non-production sites(except training) – Tuesday, September 29 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30.
* Production (live), training, and feeds sites – Wednesday, September 30 from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1.
What you need to do before the upgrade begins: Please log out of your site and do not work on your site during this upgrade window. Sites will remain available to site visitors during the upgrade windows.
