[MacTUG] macbook pro 2009 battery

Hi, just wanted to check if you guys would know if apple still sells battery for a Macbook Pro 13” Mid 2009. We have a faculty who replaced the battery with something that I think he bought from eBay, now the issue is when the battery gets low it doesn’t go to sleep instead it completely drains and shuts down.

I’m thinking it could be an issue with the battery and getting an apple certified battery might be better?
