[MacTUG] Firefox 30 and Sharepoint

An interesting point was raised at this morning’s mactug meeting that Firefox 30 does not work with sharepoint! I just tried it (I had not yet as firefox 30 just came out and it had not restarted since updating) and sure enough I get “401 UNAUTHORIZED” when I  go to our pages.

As was reported at MacTug (was that you, James?) It seems like the basic issue is that Mozilla has disabled support for NT LAN Manager version 1 (NTLMv1) which it has decided is unsecure.  According to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox/Releases/30/Site_Compatibility#Security you can manually enable it. I have done this and it does work It is a pain however
