[MacTUG] AD, 10.8 Server, and Filesharing

OK, I figured this out. I found the solution to this very frustrating and an example of how there can be rough edges around OS X Server as I had to do something that was not required before and rather unintuitive.

If you remember the situation was that while I could tell OS X Server to let my nexus account access a file share it was not working. You would think that telling the server that a specific user should be able to read/write to a fileshare would be good enough… but no!

I needed to go to the users pane of the Server and find the AD user, right click on the user, choose 'edit access to services' and then choose filesharing. You would think if you added the user in filesharing and said they could read/write that this would give them access to the disk, sheesh!

So if a user cannot access a service in OS X Server (even if you have told it to allow it in another panel) go to the Users panel and ensure the service is allowed.
