[MacTUG] Warning about Flash 11.3

I installed flash 11.3 in my labs and noticed that users were getting the following message:

"You haven't been logged out because the application Adobe Flash Player Install Manager failed to quit. To try logging out again, quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager and choose Apple Menu > Log Out."

It was an awesome message as it was not solving the issue. Users were needing to force quit Adobe Flash Player Install Manager (buried in the Utl) folder in order to quit. (OK, they were not doing this I was doing it to the Macs that they had failed to log off, haha).

At any rate the culprit is that with 11.3 Flash has added a silent autoupdate option (and has this as the default option). I left this the default for my lab build. Whether I should have or not is debatable — I usually turn off all autoupdates, but Flash seems to be one of the key vulnerabilities these days so I thought for security reasons it would be a good thing.)

At any rate, 11.4 purportedly resolves this problem and this is all outlined in the link below.

FYI I have left the silent autoupdate on again for 11.4, to see if the bug fix that is supposed to be in 11.4 works. I will try it for a few days and if it does not solve the problem I will repackage 11.4 with the silent update turned off.

At the risk of being monotonous, I will insert the usual "When will Flash just go away" comment here ;-)
