[MacTUG] A really BIG Ouch!

No I did not Matt, I will when I get things back up and running.

I restored the Time Machine backup to a spare hard disk over lunch and have booted from it. I think at this point I will just go through and screenshot the beejeezus out of all the preferences, so I remember what I did (including any custom MCX stuff) and then go back and set everything up right. Frankly I was not using the workgroup manager to make a million settings (I still do things kind of old school with a few of the settings controlled by stuff in my User Template folder on the client machine).

Then I will archive my OD, haha!!!!!!!

Hey Don,

I feel your pain, been there.
You didn't happen to archive your OD setup by chance did you?
It's a feature in server admin that allows you to backup just the OD settings etc…
If you don't have this backup I think time machine is going to be your only option, unless of course you wanted to just take the plunge and move to profile manager ;-P

OK, I was a bonehead, but now how do I recover from this one?

I was in workgroup manager and was intending to delete a computer from a group but accidentally deleted the group (I think my brain processed the "are you sure you want to delete this group" message .0001 seconds after I clicked the OK button!!!

I have a time machine backup. I guess I could totally restore my server from the time machine backup (which would fix my problem) but this is really to drastic.

Does anyone know how I can just restore the workgroup manager info?

I could redo the group but I am concerned that I might miss some MCX twiddling that I did. I guess I could restore the time machine backup an external disk, and boot from it to see how I had my group configured and then go from there, but that seems a little bit of a pain.

Any suggestions out there — other than 'Read the @#$#$#@$ messages before you click the OK button!!"
