says you should also do

killall -HUP AppleFileServer

but that didn't grey out Guest
and a reboot didn't either.

Hornware's Sharepoints Preference Pane seemed to have all the right
settings.  I'm tempted to do "chmod o= /Users/*/Public" or donate
the remaining 10.4 machines to the Marlon Sabretooth Tiger Museum. 8-)
