A point of clarification: when I say "don't need to run minuwet", I mean
that Macs don't need to run the clientside software. They do still need
to visit the minuwet page after authentication. (This should happen
automagically.)

If the minuwet page cannot verify that you're running something other
than Windows, it will not move you into the post-auth role - that is,
you'll stay in pre-minuwet and have all but the web ports unusable.

Part of the verification includes running some Javascript code in the
browser, so if you run with Firefox with NoScript as I do, you need to
allow either the uwaterloo.ca domain or the minuwet.uwaterloo.ca host -
I recommend the latter.

Sorry if that has caused confusion, sorry for the extra noise.

Mike
