[MacTUG] iphoto - sub events?

Recently, I have had several people ask me about how to create sub  
events in iphoto, but from what I can gather this is not possible, or  
at least not easy. Am I correct? anyone know a method?

Even I could use this, if I was to use iphoto.

For example, I would want

Family Events
      - Birthdays
            - Megan 2008
            - Megan 2007
            - Megan 2006 and so on
       - Vacation
              - Trip to xxx
              - Holiday at cottage

Photography Trips
      - Old stone ruin
      - Log Cabin at xxx
      - and so on
