Dear Women in Math,

It is time for the Math Faculty Phonathon! See below for more
information. I believe this initiative was actually started by WiM as
an attempt to recruit more female undergrads, but it worked so well
that we now try to phone almost everyone (male and female) who
receives an offer of admission to our faculty. I've participated in
this on at least three occasions myself, and it is actually quite fun
to call up the prospective students and chat with them. Please let
Carolyn know if you have the time to help out.

Barbara

****************************
The Math Faculty Phonathon will take place on May 17th, 18th and 19th.
During these three evenings staff, Faculty and students will call to
congratulate and welcome Ontario students who have received offers of
admission for Fall 2011.
There will be two shifts per evening; 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with
supper provided from 6 to 7 p.m.

Calls are made from phones in the Dean's office area. Training is
provided and you will be matched to prospective students by gender and
program of study whenever possible.

If you would like to help with this very worthwhile admissions event
please email Carolyn Sedore (cwjackso at uwaterloo.ca) no later than
Friday, May 13th with the day and time you are available and whether
you will join the other volunteers for supper.

Thank you very much for your consideration.
