What is happening? As part of the regular maintenance of IST services (and to ensure prevention of WannaCry), updates will be applied to Skype for Business (S4B) core servers.

When is this happening? Tuesday, May 16 from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17.

What is the impact to Skype for Business users? S4B services will be briefly interrupted during the updates as servers are rebooted after the updates are applied. In some instances, users will be signed out and signed back into the client as you are moved from an affected server to the next available one. This may occur a few times while all servers in all our core pools are restarted. Active phone calls will not be disconnect while this activity takes place.

Questions or concerns? Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca> or ext. 44357.
