Thanks Stephen!
And a suggestion for the IST-communications team. When communicating with a large group across campus, please let us know what has been said!

And (again to the IST-communications team), thanks so much for the advance notice. Very much appreciated.

Jennifer

The message that went to all undergrad students about Office 365 (Office Online). I have had upper year students asking what this means and I didn’t have the message – so wanted to make sure all of FACCUS had seen this.

Information Systems & Technology (IST) is pleased to announce that beginning October 25, 2016, Office 365 is available to all undergraduate students and you now have the option to activate your Office 365 account.
Office 365 provides a cloud based Outlook email account, with a greater feature set and increased storage over your current mailservices account. An Office 365 account provides the following to current students of the University of Waterloo:
• 5TB of OneDrive cloud-based storage
• Access to Office 365 online suite of tools
• Download and install Microsoft Office 365 on up to 5 personal computers/devices
Once you have activated your Office 365 account, you will have 30 days to migrate your mailservices email<https://uwaterloo.ca/information-systems-technology/instructions-office-365-activation> to your Office 365 account before your mailservices account is removed. This will NOT remove your userid at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:userid at uwaterloo.ca> address, only your userid at mailservices.uwaterloo.ca<mailto:userid at mailservices.uwaterloo.ca>. By activating and following the migration steps, your userid at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:userid at uwaterloo.ca> alias will now forward to your Office 365 account (userid at edu.uwaterloo.ca<mailto:userid at edu.uwaterloo.ca>).
On November 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., IST is hosting a pop-up booth in the Student Life Centre (SLC) and will be joined by Microsoft to answer Office 365 questions.
