RESOLVED - 4:05 p.m. - All SharePoint services have been restored.

Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca> or ext. 84357 if you see any issues.

Note regarding MySharePoint: It was necessary to reverted MySharePoint to the Tuesday January 27 backup (any content that was added or modified in your personal SharePoint site after 12 noon on Tuesday January 27 will not be on your site). This service appears as the OneDrive option on SharePoint sites that had been upgraded to the 2013 look and feel.

UPDATE - 2:20 p.m. - Service to SharePoint sites at https://sharepoint.uwaterloo.ca/sites/ has been restored.

Please check your sites and contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca> or ext. 84357 if you see any issues. (There have been reports that some Menu and Navigation items are missing, site owners can go to Site Settings -> Navigation and simply save the displayed menu items, this seems to fix this glitch.)

Work is still underway to restore service to  MySharePoint at https://Mysharepoint.uwaterloo.ca/personal/username and the Project Server Databases at https://sharepoint.uwaterloo.ca/projects. We will send an update when they are available.

Subject: UPDATE: SharePoint issues - January 29

Update: IST staff have determined there was a SharePoint Services failure last night that impacted the integrity of the SharePoint Databases.

How is the issue being resolved? The full SharePoint environment will be restored to the overnight backup. This will mean any content/changes added after 8:00 p.m. last night will not be in SharePoint after the restore is completed.

What is the impact? SharePoint will be unavailable until 10:30 a.m. while the full restore is completed.

Subject: SharePoint issues - January 29

What is happening? The SharePoint Server environment is experiencing some problems (e.g. Page not found or 404 Site Not Found error messages). The SharePoint servers will be restarted and a system scan will be run to help identify issues. This may briefly interrupt SharePoint access on sites that had been working earlier.
When is this happening? January 29 at 8:45 a.m.
What users need to do: Please try a refresh before submitting an RT to report persisting issues.
