What is happening? WSUS group policy settings will be turned off to allow for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to take over patch management responsibilities.

Why is this happening? The way patches are distributed to academic support workstations is changing for the November patch cycle. Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is replacing Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) as the standard deployment method for academic support workstations. The SCCM client is already deployed to all workstations. This will simply be taking better advantage of what it has to offer.

When is this happening? This change will be applied over the next few days.

What is the impact to users? No impact is expected for academic support workstations. WSUS will continue to be available for those whose workstations are not managed by SCCM or are not in academic support.
