[Faccus] Windows and Internet Explorer patches – October 14

What is happening: A patch for Internet Explorer (IE) and a patch for all versions of Windows will be fast-tracked for release today to all academic support computers.

Why is this happening: These patches have been ‘fast-tracked’ to academic support computers as they address critical security flaws. Full details can be found at https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms14-056 and https://technet.microsoft.com/library/security/ms14-058.

When is this happening? The patch will be released this afternoon, October 14 .

What do you need to do? Users will need to reboot their machines to get the patches.
