Comment: In accordance with Audit requirements and the ongoing Campus Firewall Project, campus networks will be positioned behind a perimeter firewall.

The affected areas, the dates they will be changed, and the groups we think will be affected are:

NH - 16 September (Marketing & Strategic Communications, Secretariat, President's Office, Institutional Analysis & Planning, Undergraduate Recruitment, Counselling Services, Access Ability Services, Waterloo International, Student Accounts)

RA2 - 16 September (IQC)

TC - 17 September (CECA)

All changes will be at 7:30 am on that day. At these times, the default firewall policy to deny incoming connections will be in effect. There may be some disruption of network communication between affected areas and those outside the firewall; it should be minimal, lasting less than 5 minutes.

If you require firewall exceptions for servers, do not reply to this email, please submit an RT to the IST-Security queue. In order to make this process run smoothly, please provide at least the following information:

Source: <All off-campus, vendor subnet, remote management host>
Destination: <your server IP & Name or server subnet>
Application: <www, https, ftp>
Reason: Why do you require this exception?

After your scheduled move time, if you experience unusual network behaviour, please submit an RT describing the problem.
