What is happening? Microsoft patches are being applied to all the SharePoint servers.

When is this happening? Monday, June 23, 6:30 pm - 12 midnight, and Tuesday, June 24, 6:30 pm - 12 midnight. Because the patches must be applied to each server in the SharePoint service the patching cycle will take some time to complete. The servers will need to reboot to complete the update process.

What is the impact to SharePoint users? SharePoint will be unavailable during the maintenance windows.

Why is this happening? This is part of the normal update process on Windows Servers. This is a larger update then usual so some interruption in service is required to complete the process.

What users need to do before the migration: We recommend you make sure any files from SharePoint are closed and saved. You should logout of SharePoint.

After the Update: There should be no impact to end-users.
