What is happening: Internet Explorer (IE) is being upgraded from version 9 to version 10 in Academic Support and other areas that use the campus WSUS Server. This upgrade will include the patch released last week to fix a critical security flaw (KB2964358).
Why is this happening: All corporate applications have now been certified with Internet Explorer 10 allowing us to move to a newer version of Internet Explorer.
When is this happening? On Wednesday, May 7 this update will be approved on the WSUS server, the workstation will decide when to start the install (usually around 5:00am Thursday for managed Academic support machines).
What you need to do before the upgrade begins: Please close Internet Explorer before heading home on May 7. Machines will be rebooted or may require the user to reboot the machine after the update is applied. If your workstation is powered off, the upgrade will begin shortly after your workstation is powered back on.
After the upgrade: Internet Explorer shortcuts may need to be recreated.
