[Faccus] Internet Explorer patch to fix critical security flaw – May 1

What is happening: An Internet Explorer (IE) patch has been released for all academic support computers to fix a critical security flaw. This fix also includes Windows XP, full details on it can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2964358

Why is this happening: This patch was ‘fast-tracked’ to get it out to academic support computers as it addresses a critical security flaw.  See https://uwaterloo.ca/ist/news/microsoft-internet-explorer-critical-security-flaw

When is this happening? This patch was released last night – May 1

What do you need to do? Users will need to reboot their machines to get the patch.  To check to see if the patch was applied, open Internet Explorer > Help menu > About Internet Explorer > check for (KB 2964358) next to the version number.
