What is happening? Microsoft support for Windows XP is ending. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/end-support-help for more information
When is this happening? April 8, 2014 but may require action from you now!
What do I need to do? Make arrangements to upgrade or decommission all Windows XP workstations in your area (see Details section below to see if your area is affected).
Please advise your Windows XP clients: After April 8th, Windows XP computers involved in security incidents will be removed from the campus network by Information Security Operations and will remain off the network until the disk is reformatted and a vendor-supported OS is installed.
Questions/concerns? Please contact the IST Service Desk, helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:helpdesk at uwaterloo.ca> or ext. 84357.
