Our first speaker is Lisa Tomalty who will provide information about the FACulty Computing User Support Group (FACCUS). This group represents IT staff who provide client support in the faculties, IST, the Library and some colleges. FACCUS meetings are an opportunity to share ideas, seek advice on problems, share resources (e.g. documentation, course notes), and foster effective communication between IT areas on campus. Lisa will also comment about Help Desk Initiatives group, which was formed to allow members of FACCUS to focus on IT Help Desk improvements in areas such as documentation, communication, marketing, tools and solutions, training, and service improvement.
Our second speaker is Terry Stewart, Chair of the UW Web Advisory Committee (WAC). This committee makes recommendations on all aspects of web planning, development and practice on campus. As a representative body of web developers and maintainers from all parts of campus, it also acts as a forum and, where appropriate, as an advocate for the UW web community on future directions, accessibility, design, best practices, web governance, etc. Come and learn about the history of WAC, its projects and plans for the future.
Please note that this seminar will not be webcasted or recorded.
