What is happening? A recent phishing attempt claims to be sending voicemail messages to clients via email. The voicemail message displays as a zip file attachment and may contain one of several forms of malicious software.

What should you do if you receive such an email? Please forward the email to soc at uwaterloo.ca<mailto:soc at uwaterloo.ca>.

Important to know: Waterloo's voicemail system does not generally forward voicemails as an attachment to email.

Under no circumstances should you run any such attachment.
