Request Tracker 4 (RT4) Implementation Project: The RT4 Implementation Project will use the results of the RT Investigation Project (2012-13) to implement "Request Tracker version 4.2", the newest version of the RT system that is currently used on campus. The RT4 project will also implement recommendations from the IT Best Practices project (beginning in fall 2013). The goal is to maintain the stability and reliability of the current request tracking system while enhancing functionality and adding features such as reporting and a knowledge base.
IT Best Practices Project (ITBP): The ITBP Project will review and make recommendations to improve IT service processes and procedures on campus in order to meet and exceed the expectations of clients. ITIL concepts, processes and suggestions related to IT service operations procedures, change management, asset management, service catalogue, knowledge base, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), and Continual Service Improvement processes will be investigated.
SharePoint Server 2013 Infrastructure Project: SharePoint is the online collaboration environment provided by Microsoft for sharing and managing Microsoft Office documents and files. SharePoint Foundation 2010 is our current online collaboration environment. Foundation is the "free" version of SharePoint with reduced functionality. Our goal is to implement a SharePoint Server 20103 Enterprise environment with a richer toolset for managing content and Office Productivity workflows. The new service should be available for December 2013. Once the new SharePoint service is in place an on-going redesign process for Site management will begin.
This seminar will not be webcasted/recorded.
