What is happening? On April 8 2014, the Microsoft Windows XP operating system will be at end-of-life status. Operating system updates will not be available after this date.

Why is this important? This presents a risk to the university as new security vulnerabilities discovered after this date cannot be corrected, which could endanger the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of information in the university's care.

What is the solution? Windows XP users should move to an operating system with longer-term support.

What do you need to do? Windows XP users should contact their computing support representative to begin planning their move to an operating system with longer-term support.

Note: Upgrading to a more modern operating system may require upgrades to software and/or hardware, so please be sure to take this into consideration when planning your move.

Questions or concerns? Please contact your computing support representative for assistance with migration, software/hardware updates, and general support for Windows operating systems.

Thank you.
