The university already has a process for shredding hard disks.

If Central Stores gets a hard disk that doesn't have a "this has been
safely wiped" sticker on it, they send it to Cambridge for shredding.
I've seen the shredder, it's cool (sparks fly out as it goes nom-nom-nom).
