IT support staff are sometimes faced with situations that involve UW Police and/or IST Information Security Services. The following topics, and others will be covered in this seminar:

  *   What can be done when a laptop is stolen?
  *   When can be done if someone on campus receives a threatening email or is being harassed on FaceBook?
  *   Is there anything we can do to reduce theft and vandalism in e-classrooms and student labs?
  *   What is the protocol when access is needed to a staff member's email?
  *   What should an IT support person do if child pornography is found on a workstation that is being repaired?
  *   How should IT helpdesk staff handle a situation involving an angry client who is getting scary?
